I have had some questions on this and here is a little more of what I am thinking: I am NOT currently thinking it is a separate race between the teams, but rather how they finish with-in the feature itself. Although there is the invert, I think this adds to the drama. Do some of the traveling team go there the week before to test there cars, and get a point average? Do they Pull in to get a low average! Then I am thinking we figure a team average - maybe it is just as simple as adding up the two teams finishing spots and the team with the lower number wins, and the tiebreaker is the team that won. My initial thoughts are that whatever bonus money is available the winning team takes it all and divides it up among themselves, probably evenly.... The home team would have to probably have the same amount of drivers that are eligible as the traveling team. Although you could just take the same amount of top finishers and those are the ones eligible for the bonus money..... As much as I like the thought of two promoters out on the front stretch before the race picking there team, this could really anger some teams..... And you don't necessarily want to limit the amount of teams...lets say I have 10 Sport Mods that want to go to Slayton for the "Away Game". They would sure as heck want all of them to come, so maybe it needs to be a deal that you can bring as many as you can, but it is only our top 5 cars (or 3 or whatever we come up with) that race into a "Team Finish Position".??? Lots of stuff to decided but, I love it!! Dividing up who is on what team could get interesting as well. What if we have a guy that is going to run at two tracks and lives right in between them, and lets further say he is leading points at both tracks! Who's team is he on? There is so much here to think about - what if Jackson is at Slayton and the flagman makes a big call to park one of the Jackson guys for rough driving! Or one of the Slayton guys, and that decides who wins! Oh would that have everyone talking when that team went on the Road! Maybe you could have triple headers, with Three Teams! And I love the thought of Playoffs..... We must be creative with new ideas. The Same old stuff will not produce better results. We must give the Racers, Fans and Sponsors excitement and intrigue....What is going to happen this week.... I think the sky is the limit as far as what we could do with the tracks that want to work with us. I can't wait to get started with 2011. |
