Bakker takes JSTS win at Hancock County Speedway

Britt, Iowa (July 24, 2009) – The Jackson Speedway Touring Series hit the road to the 4/10 mile of the Hancock County Speedway in Britt, Iowa for their annual fair race.  Winning the night’s 25-lap feature race was Gregg Bakker, Sioux Falls SD. 

In the 25-lap A main event it was Gregg Bakker getting the early lead from his pole starting position.  Brad Foster, Melbourne, Aust., would get the second spot with Casey Heser, Jackson MN, getting the third position. The leaders would race in this order for the first half the race, as Bakker would show the field how to get around the speedway as he worked up a full straightaway lead over Foster by lap six.  As the race continued on, Bakker would continue his domination working up a half lap lead over Foster by the cross flags.  On lap fourteen the races only caution came out for debris in turn two.  On the restart, Bakker held off the field but, the race was heated between Foster, Heser, and Bryan Dobesh, Sioux Falls SD.  Several laps went in the books as Foster held second and Heser ran third.  On lap twenty, Heser would get around Foster for second going in turn three.  And on the next lap Dobesh would also get around Foster, as he would fall back in the field.  When the checkered flag flew it was Gregg Bakker taking the win followed by Casey Heser, Bryan Dobesh, Justin Henderson, Indianapolis IN, and Jody Rosenboom, Rock Rapids IA.  Heat races were won by Brad Foster and Casey Heser.

The next Jackson Speedway Touring Series event will be Friday and Saturday, August 21^st and 22^nd as part of the 31^st Annual Jackson Nationals at the Jackson Speedway, Jackson, Minnesota. Saturday nights championship race will pay $5,000  to win.
