Points Races Decided On
Season Championship Night

JACKSON, MN - Championship night for the 2010 season of
racing at the Jackson Speedway provided plenty of racing
action in all six classes to wrap up the regular racing
season for this year. The season will officially conclude
with the final night of the 32nd Annual Jackson Nationals
for Hornets, Hobby Stock, B-Modifieds and Stock Cars on
Sept. 25.
Nate Coopman of Mankato, MN won the Season Championship in
the Jackson Speedway Hornet class, as he won every feature
event this season with the exception of two races to
dominate the class for the season, including the
championship night eight-lap feature event.
In the Car Toyz of Marshall IMCA Hobby Stock Class, season
leader in the class, Dustin Larson, suffered mechanical
issues in the feature and would not finish the race, but
still claimed the season championship in the class. On
championship night, however, it was Chad Raverty of Heron
Lake, MN, earning the double checkered flags to win the
feature event.
The Bohl's Small Engine and Marine IMCA Sport Modified
feature would go to Zach Norgaard of Spencer, IA, in his
first appearance at the speedway this season, but Matthew
Looft of Swea City, IA, collected the points championship
for the season. In the KICD 305 Sprint Class, Ryan Voss of
Milford, IA earned the points championship for the season,
but for the third week in a row, Casey Friedrichsen of
Arthur, IA, captured the double checkered flags for the
feature event.
The battle in the points championship for the Performance
Center IMCA Stock Car class came down to Saturday night's
feature event, as three drivers were separated by three
points in their quest for the title. When the checkered
flags flew, it was Jim Larson earning the win and the
season points championship in the class "too tough to
tame."
For the Forbes Meats 360 sprint class, Jackson's Casey
Heser would earn the Points Championship after his finish
in the heat race event, but it was Jake Peters of Sioux
Falls, SD, who would win the feature event to close out
the regular season's racing action at Jackson Speedway.
The Jackson Speedway Touring Series 360 Winged Sprints
will have a pair of races coming up on Friday and
Saturday, Sept. 17 and 18, as they travel to Park
Jefferson Speedway on Sept. 17 at North Sioux City, SD,
and then make a first-ever appearance at Husets Speedway
in Brandon, SD., on Saturday, Sept. 18. For more
