Great Field of Cars Turns
Out For Jackson Nationals

JACKSON, MN - After a week to dry out from the torrential
rains of September, the 32nd Annual Jackson Nationals,
sponsored by Loosbrock Digging Service of Lismore, MN,
brought the 2010 racing season to a close Saturday
evening, Oct. 2. With a field of 149 cars filling the
pits, added money to the purses for the Hornet Class, Car
Toyz of Marshall IMCA Hobby Stock class, Bohl's Small
Engine and Marine IMCA Sport Modifieds and the Performance
Center IMCA Stock Cars, multiple heat races were the rule
of the evening to set up the feature race events.
Also competing were the Jackson Speedway Touring Series
360 Winged Sprints and the KICD Radio 305 winged sprints,
joining the fray to fill out the evening's racing slate.
In the feature for the KICD 305 Sprints, Mike Blomstrom of
Fort Dodge, IA, earned the victory on the historic
half-mile. Nate Coopman of Mankato, Minn., would claim the
10 lap Hornet A Feature, after dominating the class during
the season, taking the season points championship in the
class. The Jackson Speedway Touring Series 360 Sprint
feature victory went to the hometown boy as Casey Heser
capped off a championship season at the track with the 20
lap feature win.
Shane Klaassen of Little Rock, IA, made the haul to
Jackson to run in the Hobby Feature and brought his 901
car home in first place with a late-race pass for the
lead. In the IMCA Sport Modified class, Tad Reutzel of
Burt, Iowa, would come up with a pass on lap 14 over
14-year-old Cayden Cartter of Oskaloosa, IA, to earn the
checkers in a thrilling finish.
In the evening's finale', the IMCA Stock Car feature would
go to Jake Masters of Graettinger, IA to close out the
racing season for 2010.
The official end to the 2010 racing season will take place
on Saturday, October 23 with the annual Awards Banquet.
