Tight Racing At Jackson Speedway

The third annual Dominic Bruns Memorial Races at Jackson
Speedway featured a field of 84 cars taking to the
historic half-mile on the Jackson County Fairgrounds June
4. With the IMCA Stock Cars racing for extra purse monies
to help promote awareness of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome
(SID), drivers from the "Class Too Tough To Tame" also
ventured into the grandstands during intermission to pass
the helmet to raise extra funds for SID research,
collecting an additional $433.75 through the generosity of
Jackson Speedway's fans.
The evening's races, sponsored by Sanford Jackson Medical
Center, were also the first in the series of the Southern
Minnesota Alliance of Race Tracks challenge, featuring
drivers from Redwood Speedway in Redwood Falls. At the end
of the night, Jackson Speedway drivers earned a clean
sweep, taking the highest finishing positions in each of
the six classes of competition during the evening.
The racing actioni on Saturday, June 11, will be the
Annual University of Okoboji Night, with additional money
in the purses for all six divisions.
