Even though the skies were threatening, the
evening's races, sponsored by the State Bank of Fairmont
provided another evening of great racing action at the
historic half-mile. A total of 86 competitors filled the
pits to provide some of the finest racing action in
southern Minnesota.

There were thrills and spills from the outset on Saturday,
as Brandon Halverson of Jackson would tip his KICD 305
sprinter over during hot laps, but emerged unscathed. In
the Yellowbook Sport Compact class, it was "Wreckers to
Checkers" for Estherville, Iowa's Megan Lappegard  after
she rolled her car moments after the green flag dropped,
but persevered to take the checkered flag for the feature
win.

Al Stammer would bring out the red flag in the Hobby
feature with a rollover but emerged unscathed from the
mishap.

Other feature winners on the night were Derek Bargloff in
the Hobby Stocks, Dan Paplow in the Sport Modifieds, Bill
Boles in KICD 305 sprints, Dustin Larson in the Stock Cars
and Jake Peters in the 360 Sprint car class.

Attention will now turn to this Friday's  Big Game Tree
Stands 410 Sprint Car special with the KICD 305 Sprints as
the support class. Hot laps on Friday night will begin at
7:15 p.m. with racing to follow. A great field of drivers
is anticipated, including the legendary Sammy Swindell in
the and Danny "The Dude" Lasoski.
