Worthington, Minnesota (September 7, 2008) – The Jackson Speedway packed up gear and headed west for a special night of racing action at the Nobles County Speedway in Worthington, Minnesota, featuring the Jackson Speedway Touring Series 360 Sprints.  Winning the nights feature races were Gregg Bakker, Sioux Falls SD, JSTS 360 Sprints; Clint Garner, Sioux Falls SD, Heartland Racing Association Non-Winged Sprints; Nate Eakin, Milford IA,  Double Barrel Sprints; Luke Sathoff, Jackson MN, Performance Center Stock Cars; Justin Anderson, Worthington MN, B Modifieds; and Shane Klaassen, Little Rock IA, Hobby Stocks.

The 25-lap JSTS 360 Sprint Car feature saw two different leaders.  At the start it was Brett Geldner, St. Peter MN, getting the early lead.  Lee Grosz, Harwood ND, would get the second spot with Shawn Van Wyhe, Rock Rapids IA, getting the third spot.  On lap two Gregg Bakker got by Van Wyhe for the third spot.  The leaders would then race in this order for the first three laps when Shawn Van Wyhe slowed on the back stretch.  On the restart Geldner maintained his number one spot, but Bakker was able to get by Grosz putting him back to third.  On lap eight the caution came out when Robby Wolfgang, Sioux Falls SD, spun in turns one and two.  Geldner again kept the field behind on the restart as Bakker raced in second and Grosz third.  On lap ten the red flag came out for Lee Grosz when he got upside down in turn two.  Grosz was ok, but done for the night.  Once again on the restart, Geldner kept the field behind him as Bakker ran second, and now Brent Vonk, Sioux Falls SD, ran third.  On lap thirteen the last caution flag of the race was thrown when Jesse Drost, Rushmore MN, spun in turn four and Gordy Vogelaar, Worthington MN, made contact with him.  Drost was able to restart, while Vogelaar’s car had to be towed back to the pits.  Geldner again kept the field behind him on the restart as Bakker maintained second and Vonk third.  On lap sixteen Bill Boles, Harris IA, got around Vonk for third.  The leaders would race in this order to the white flag when the leaders really turned up the heat for the money lap.  Bakker would make a pass for the lead coming out of turn two, but Geldner would get him back in turns three and four, but Bakker again passed him on the front straightaway, and at the line it was Gregg Bakker winning by a few feet at the line. Brett Geldner had to settle for second.  Jake Peters, Sioux Falls SD, made great on the last lap as well going from fifth on lap twenty-four to third at the finish.  Bill Boles took fourth with Jody Rosenboom, Rock Rapids IA, taking fifth.  Heat race winner were Brett Geldner, Brent Vonk, and Lee Grosz.

The 15-lap Heartland Racing Association Non-Winged Sprint Car feature race was led start to finish by Clint Garner.  Garner would get the early lead from his outside row two starting spot.  Justin Zitterich, Sioux Falls SD, would get the second spot with Brandon Stevenson, Holestein IA, the third position.  The next lap saw Gerod Olivier, Garretson SD, get around Stevenson for the third spot.  On lap four the caution came out for Danny Lee, Sioux Falls SD, who spun in turn two.  Garner would keep the field behind him on the restart.  One more lap would get when the red flag came out for M.J. Ziebarth, Elkton SD, who got upside down in turn two.  Ziebarth was ok, and when the race resumed it was Garner holding off the field, as Zitterich ran second and Olivier third. On lap eleven the battle for the third spot heated up as Olivier, Jake Martens, Fairview OK, and Robby Wolfgang, Sioux Falls SD, raced in a tight pack.  On lap twelve Martens got by Olivier for third, but two laps later, Olivier moved back into third.  When the checkered flag flew it was Clint Garner taking the win followed by Justin Zitterich, Jake Martens, Gerod Olivier, and Robby Wolfgang.  Heat race wins went to Gerod Olivier and Clint Garner.

Two different drivers led in the 15-lap Double Barrel Sprint Car feature race.  At the start it was Steve Yarns, Jackson MN, getting the early lead.  Bruce Anderson, Trimont MN, would get the second spot with Scott Knudson, Elkton SD, getting the third position.  On lap three Nate Eakin would move into the third spot and then challenge Bruce Anderson for the second spot.  On lap five Eakin got around Anderson for second.  On lap six Eakin would make the pass for the lead coming out of turn two getting by Yarns.  Lap eight saw Anderson challenge Yarns for the second spot, and on the next lap Anderson got around him for second.  When the checkered flag flew it was Nate Eakin taking the win followed by Bruce Anderson, Steve Yarns, Jeff Edgington, Sioux Falls SD, Scott Knudson, and Curt Thurmer, Jackson MN.  Bruce Anderson picked up the heat race win.

As the two raced side by side for the lead, Sathoff finally made the pass for the lead coming out of turn four on lap twelve.  On lap fifteen, Luinenberg was able to get around Malherek for second, putting him back to third.  When the checkered flag flew it was Luke Sathoff taking the win followed by Justin Luinenberg, Steve Malherek, Nick Johansen, Russell MN, and Jim Larson, Rushmore MN.  Heat races were won by Brad Klaassen and Luke Sathoff.

Two different drivers led in the 15-lap Hobby Stock feature.  At the start, Dustin Larson, Rushmore MN, got the early lead.  Cory Gronewold, Adrian MN, got the second spot with Jason Andrews, Okabena MN, getting the third spot.  On lap two Jason Andrews brought out the caution when he spun out.  It took three tries to get the race restarted.  Once the race finally got going, Larson maintained the lead as Gronewold ran second and Shane Klaassen ran third.  On lap eight Klaassen challenged Gronewold for second spot and made the pass for the position.  On lap thirteen several cars made contact up front, among them was race leader, Dustin Larson.  That gave the restart lead to Shane Klaassen who would lead the remaining two laps and go on to take the win.  He was followed by Dan Strandberg, Worthington MN, Terry Vogt, Tyler MN, Scott Hector, Brewster MN, and Jerry Gronewold, Worthington MN.  Heat races were won by Dustin Larson and Dan Strandberg.
