12-16-2011 - Update:
Things are progressing with the potential sale of the Racetrack. We had a good meeting with the county officials this week and look for more information in the upcoming weeks.
I wanted to put out some tentative thoughts on this years schedule. We are looking at having the Van Wyhe Livestock / Folkens Bothers Trucking Spring Sprint Car Nationals on Friday May 4th. Our Weekly program will likely again open on Memorial Day Weekend, and run through Labor Day, with potentially a weekend or two off at Jackson Speedway during the Knoxville Nationals. We may schedule some JSTS races during this time at other tracks as well.
As far as the Jackson Nationals I am thinking having both in September. The Sprint Car Jackson Nationals perhaps on September 21st and 22nd. And the Stock Car Nationals September 29th, maybe just as a one day show. But this is pretty tentative at this point, just wanted to let everyone know what I was thinking as of now. We also don't currently have a deal in place for the Sprint Nationals to be a sanctioned ASCS Event, but we are certainly not opposed to this if we can again get enough Sponsors in place.
We also are going to do some things different as far as schedule for the Jackson County Fair. We will run the IMCA Classes on Thursday Night with the Demo Derby have an all Sprint Car Show on Friday Night and have a concert on Saturday Night.
RIP Kenny Chapman
11-30-2011 - I just received the news that Former Jackson Speedway Sprint Car Champion Kenny Chapman passed away last evening, from complications from a Heart Attack he suffered on October 30th. Kenny was 65 and would have been 66 on new years eve.
Kenny was the Point Champion in the Unlimited Sprint Car Division in 1984. Originally from Winnipeg, Canada, Kenny was a regular competitor (and contender every Night!) at the Jackson Speedway in the 70's 80's and 90's. He even made a few appearances while I have been the Promoter in the 2000's.
I will post more details on arrangements, etc as they come available.
If you have any pictures or stories about Kenny that you would like share, I would love to post them on the web-site. Send them to me at jmccorkell@brinkman-reed.com
The 1st picture below of the #58 - Someone gave me this picture with in the last year.... It looks like maybe coming out of turn two at Fairmont? There is guardrail - so I think that eliminates Jackson - and the Corn is pretty close to the track....And I took the other photo off of Kenny's Daughter's Face book Page.

Enclosed is a photo of Kenny taken the last year he drove. It was a pleasure to know him and call him a friend! During the 1980's when I went to the Jackson Speedway as a kid, Kenny was my Favorite! I learned so much from him about sprint car racing when he drove for my dad at the end of his career. He had some epic battles on the track with the Frantsens and many others!! Kenny won races all over the Midwest and Canada and was a true outlaw that raced anywhere anytime during the 1980's. Kenny was one of the great one's. He will be forever missed, and many thoughts and prayers go out to Kenny's family at this time..
The Older Gentleman in that photo at the Right is Bob Hofmiester who owned Faribault Harley Davidson. Bob Passed away in 2008

11-10-2011 - As I announced at the Banquet I am continuing to work with Tod Quiring exploring the possibility of purchasing the Jackson Speedway. I Met with the Jackson County Fairboard last night to brief them on where the process is at. Which is a long way off, but there is some interest from both parties about exploring the possibility of a potential sale.
If a sale where to occur, you would not see a lot of things change, especially with regards to the weekly program. I would still be running the track, with the same classes and the same basic rules.
There are basically two reasons we are looking at purchasing the track: 1) To make additional track improvements and 2) Adding some additional specials, and I mean BIG specials.
Some potential capital improvements that may be looked at are Shortening the track a little bit, improving the pit areas, adding a shop and adding bleachers.
This is VERY exciting and this could be GREAT thing for the Jackson Speedway and area racing.
As a lot of tracks are struggling and some are even closing, we have a possibility of really expanding and improving our operation!
I also did an interview last night that can be heard on KKOJ.
10-27-2011 Thanks to all for a wonderful Banquet! We will post some photos hopefully today as soon as I get them. We have also updated the equipment for sale list some more.

10-20-2011 I would like to give a big Thanks to Doug Skinner and Dakota Pack in Estherville for hooking us up with some prime Pork Loins for this weekend's Banquet! They are also a Sponsor of the 03Z of Jason Andrews. Jason is out 2011 Bohls Small Engine IMCA Sport Mod Champion.
We have also updated our Equipment list quite a bit, as we have sold a bunch of items and have also added a lot more items. Please help us spread the word on all the items we have for sale. Thanks!
10-14-2011 We have a new button on the Left for Equipment we have for sale. We are hoping to update some equipment and maybe get a rock picker before next season, so if you could help us spread the word on what we have for sale that would be great.
Thanks Jon
